Krishna Garba Academy Builds a Cultural Bridge Between Youth and Tradition

GUJARAT, AHMEDABAD | 13th SEPTEMBER 2025: For over 11 years, Krishna Garba Academy has been a vibrant cultural hub in Naranpura, Ahmedabad, dedicatedly preserving and promoting Gujarat’s traditional dance form of Garba. Under the leadership of founders Agam Shah and Komal Kothari, the academy has become a unique bridge connecting age-old traditions with today’s youth.

Each year, well ahead of Navratri, the academy offers energetic and immersive training in a variety of traditional Garba styles from across the state, including Kutchi, Rajwadi, and Surti Dodhiya, among others. Garba revellers are not only taught intricate footwork and rhythm but are also encouraged to use traditional props such as daang, chhatri, ghada, kartaal, and ghughra, which enhance the overall garba experience.

To further deepen the connection between culture and the younger generation, Krishna Garba Academy hosts a range of engaging weekly activities. These include themed days like Traditional Day, Safa Day, Group Day, Game Night, and several other colourful events that keep the spirit of celebration alive throughout the season.

Krishna Garba Academy is deeply committed to preserving Gujarat’s rich Garba heritage and passing it on to the next generation.
