AHMEDABAD, GUJARAT | 04th AUGUST 2026 | While many children his age are still exploring what they want to be when they grow up, 12-year-old Parth Sarabhai already has his sights set on a greener future. A Class VII student at Ahmedabad International School, Parth hopes to one day build on his family’s renewable energy business while contributing to a cleaner, more sustainable future.
The son of Suhrid Sarabhai, Chairman and Managing Director of Infistar Group, Parth has developed a keen interest in sustainability, climate change and environmental conservation from an early age. He says spending time in nature and learning about environmental challenges has shaped the way he thinks about protecting the planet and using natural resources responsibly.
“I have always enjoyed being close to nature. The more I learnt about climate change and pollution, the more I wanted to understand how clean energy can make a difference,” says Parth.
Although he enjoys playing cricket, football and tennis, and spends his free time playing Bollywood and hip-hop tunes on the keyboard, Parth is equally fascinated by renewable energy projects. He often accompanies his father to meetings, where he listens to discussions on new projects and occasionally shares his thoughts.
One project that particularly excites him is compressed biogas (CBG), which converts organic waste such as cattle dung, Napier grass and agricultural residue into clean fuel. He believes technologies like these can help reduce dependence on conventional fossil fuels while addressing waste management and environmental concerns.
“India is moving towards sustainability, and I want to be part of that journey. Compressed biogas turns waste into something useful, reduces our dependence on fossil fuels and supports a cleaner environment,” he says.
Parth’s interest in renewable energy has grown alongside Infistar Renewables’ latest initiative, a joint venture with Finland-based Arciplug Oy to introduce modular plug flow compressed biogas technology in India. He believes innovations such as these will make clean energy more accessible and reduce dependence on conventional fuels.
“Most of my friends want to become doctors or engineers. I want to become like my father, take the company to greater heights and do something that helps protect our planet,” adds Parth.
