GANDHINAGAR, GUJARAT | 16th SEPTEMBER 2026 | On the eve of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s 76th birthday, Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel launched the ‘Harit Ghar – Swasth Samaj’ Campaign organised by Vishwa Gujarati Samaj in Ahmedabad. On this occasion, he stated that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, India has witnessed remarkable development and continues to earn the trust of its people. Despite global challenges, India’s economy is progressing rapidly, while the country’s growing influence was also evident at the BRICS Summit.

CM  further stated that when Gujarat was formed as a separate state in 1960, there were questions about how the state would develop. Under Shri Narendra Modi’s leadership as Chief Minister, Gujarat witnessed holistic development. Today, progress is visible statewide, with transformation taking place in every sector and improvements in people’s lives.

CM highlighted that the Prime Minister, during his tenure as Chief Minister of Gujarat, laid the foundation for essential infrastructure such as electricity, water, roads, and other facilities. Gujarat’s development created confidence across the country that Shri Narendra Modi could take India to new heights. He said that the Prime Minister has demonstrated that challenges can be turned into achievements and has earned the trust of people across the country and the world. He expressed hope that people would light Aashirwad no Divo for the Prime Minister on his birthday.

CM said that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has always given importance to environmental conservation along with development. Initiatives such as ‘Mission LiFE’, ‘Catch the Rain’, ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ and natural farming have encouraged people to participate in environmental protection. He described the Vishwa Gujarati Samaj’s Harit Ghar – Swasth Samaj’ Campaign as a commendable initiative in this direction. He added that growing vegetables at home can help people better understand the importance of the environment and sustainable development.

Speaking about the Prime Minister’s vision, CM said that GIFT City has emerged as a global financial hub. He said the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit, initiated by Shri Narendra Modi, has helped Gujarat emerge as a major destination for global investment. Today, 100 of the world’s top 500 companies are operating in Gujarat. He added that the number of MSMEs in Gujarat has grown from 1.85 lakh small-scale industries in 2001 to more than 27 lakh MSMEs today, generating employment for lakhs of people.

Referring to the month-long Seva Sankalp Abhiyan beginning on the Prime Minister’s 76th birthday, the CM called upon citizens to contribute towards building a Viksit  Gujarat and realising the vision of a Viksit Bharat.

On this occasion, Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel felicitated Shri Rangdatt Joshi, Shri Vijay Dobariya and Shri Sohil Patel for their distinguished contributions in various fields.

The CM also visited stalls showcasing products and services from around 35 startups working in environmental protection and encouraged the young entrepreneurs. The stalls featured products and services for display and sale.

Notably, the Golden Book of Records presented a World Record certificate for the unique campaign to distribute 76,000 kitchen garden saplings.

Vishwa Gujarati Samaj President Shri Bhavesh Lakhani delivered the welcome address, while General Secretary Shri Sudhir S. Raval outlined the campaign.

MLAs Shri Amit Shah, Shri Amit Thaker and Shri Kaushik Jain, former Vishwa Gujarati Samaj President Shri Gordhanbhai Patel, Shri Mahendra Shah, Manish Sharma, Bipin Soni, other office-bearers and members of the organisation, youth running environmental protection startups, and a large number of citizens were present at the event.
