Kshatriya community in Jamnagar decides not to vote for Congress

The Halar region of Gujarat consisting of Jamnagar Lok Sabha constituency will vote on May 7. The popular MP PoonambenMaadam representing Jamnagar for the last 10 years is contesting once again and it is slowly becoming clear that the Kshatriya community too will support Poonamben.

In response to an event that took place in Rajkot, Kshatriya community had turned against the BJP and the Congress party was taking advantage of it for its political gain. The Congress party was under the impression that due to anger against the BJP, the Kshatriya community will vote for them, however it has turned out to be untrue. Community leaders have realised that just because they have anger against BJP, they cannot vote for Congress because the Congress party believes in politics of division.

Dhrol taluka of Jamnagar Lok Sabha constituency is a Kshatriya dominated taluka. Sarpanch of 10 villages and President of Sarpanch association Virendrasinh Jadeja, other leaders like Govubha Dada, C.R. Jadeja, Rajbha Jadeja, Lakhdhirsinhji, Navalsinhji, Pravinsinh Zala among others had a meeting on May 1. This meeting was also attended by Poonamben and Cabinet Minister Raghavji Patel and MLA Meghji Chavda.

Issues of Kshatriya community were discussed in the meeting. Poonamben who has always been supported by all communities had appealed to the community to maintain peace and let elections happen in a peaceful manner. “Anger against BJP does not mean that Kshatriya community supports Congress. They have assured that they will never vote for Congress,” said Poonamben.

All communities have thus come out in support of PoonambenMaadam, who is often known as daughter of Halar region.
