Gaurakshak Sena Sangh committed to service and protection of cows

Over a thousand members have joined the Gaurakshak Sena Sangh.

The Sangh has rescued over 50 cows from being sent to slaughterhouses.

Ahmedabad 23rd December 2024: The Gaurakshak Sena Sangh, an organisation committed to protecting and serving cows, was launched approximately seven months ago. This group includes over 1,000 members from Ahmedabad and nearby villages engaged in the service and protection of cows.

The group provides free treatment to sick cows, stray cows, abandoned non-milking cows, and cows injured in accidents. A notable achievement is the rescue of cows being taken to slaughterhouses.

Members of the Gaurakshak Sena Sangh appeal to people to stop cow slaughter. They urge people to contact them if they see or learn of cows being taken to slaughterhouses. So far, over 50 cows have been rescued from slaughterhouses. This group does not accept donations and is managed by professionals and businessmen. The group currently has a cow shelter near Mahemdavad, which houses 40-42 cows and calves. Another cow shelter is set to open by January.

Members of the Gaurakshak Sena Sangh have been engaged in the service of cows for years but the idea of forming the group emerged around seven months ago. While travelling by car, some of the members saw a cow lying on the road. They stopped and tried to move the cow, and as they did so, they saw tears in the cow’s eyes. It was then that they decided to form a group for the protection of cows. The Gaurakshak Sena Sangh was founded by Yashbhai, Maulikbhai, Adarshbhai and Varunbhai. Today, more than 1,000 people are a part of the group.

Cows can often be seen on the roads at night. To prevent accidents, the group has distributed over 25,000 reflective belts in Ahmedabad and surrounding areas.
