The first 10 days of Amazon Great Indian Festival 2025 saw record participation from small and medium businesses (SMBs) across India, compared to all previous editions, including an unprecedented number of SMBs from Gujarat. More than two-thirds of these SMBs are based in Tier 2, 3 cities and beyond. With over 50% increase in SMBs crossing INR 1 crore in sales as compared to last year, seller success has surged at Amazon Great Indian Festival 2025. These milestones highlight the growing role of digital marketplaces in empowering local entrepreneurs and driving inclusive economic growth across India.
Key festive trends in Gujarat:
Premium choices lead festive shopping: Premium smart TVs over INR 1 lakh have seen a growth of close to 60%, led by Hisense which grew close to 190% in the region. Smartphones priced above INR 20,000 witnessed strong double-digit growth, with the premium segment, priced aboveINR 30,000doubled YoY in value. Even in the INR 10,000-20,000 segment, OnePlus Nord CE4 Lite emerged as the bestseller in Gujarat, reflecting a preference for premium brands.
Beauty and fashion surge: In Ahmedabad, the luxury beauty category saw an exponential growth of 8.5X YoY vs last year. The demand for beauty products also witnessed a surge, growing 1.7X YoY, led by hair care 2.3X and makeup 2X purchases.
Dairy delights and pet care grows: In Ahmedabad, high customer preference for milk productsrose 2.5X YoY and cream productsdemand by 2X.
Home transformation in full swing: Gujarat shoppers boosted demand across home categories, with kids’ furniture up 30% YoY in Rajkot, sideboards and cabinets grew more than 55%YoY andarmchairs nearly by 95%in Surat.
Outdoor living and gardening gain momentum: Lawn and garden products are witnessing strong traction across the state. Surat recorded over 130% YoY growth in landscaping tools, pest control, and solar products, while Vadodara saw gardening, outdoor products, and water pump demand increase by more than 30% YoY.
Mobility accessories continue to grow: Products such as dashcams, air fresheners, bike gears, car care accessories, and connected mobility grew significantly in Surat and Ahmedabad.
Sports and fitness fuel festive choices: Customers displayed strong interest in sports and fitness, with demand for products such as cardio equipment, badminton, skating, and cricket accessories surging in the region. Vadodara recorded over 20%for these products.
As of Day 10, 1 in 4 customers are using Amazon Pay instruments to shop during the sale. UPI continues to be a popular choice, with 1 in 4 orders placed through it and an 11% growth in UPI users compared to last year. Additionally, 1 in 10 orders were made using the Amazon Pay ICICI Bank Credit Card.
