International Rural Health Association (IRHA): Addressing the Critical Need for Paramedics in Gujarat and Beyond

Gujarat 30 August 2024: In response to the growing need for trained paramedical professionals at the grassroots level, the International Rural Health Association (IRHA) was established. Registered under the SR Act 21 of 1860 with the Government of Gujarat, IRHA is dedicated to imparting education, research, and development in the field of paramedical sciences, focusing on areas beyond traditional all opathic, Ayurvedic, Unani, and Homeopathy practices.

As medical science continues to advance globally, the reliance on sophisticated diagnostic and treatment equipment such as Ultrasound, X-rays, ECG, Endoscopes, CT Scans, and Dialysis machines has increased significantly. However, the lack of trained technical staff to operate these machines poses a major challenge for doctors, impacting their efficiency and ability to conduct essential research. Recognizing this gap, IRHA aims to fill the demand for skilled medical technicians and assistants in Gujarat, India, and abroad.

Government officials have highlighted a critical oversight in the current healthcare system: the absence of a regulatory body to oversee the recruitment and functioning of paramedics across the country. This lack of regulation makes it difficult to assess the competency and track records of paramedical staff. To address this, IRHA is committed to providing quality education and training in paramedical sciences, ensuring that healthcare providers have access to well-trained personnel who can assist doctors and protect the integrity of the medical profession.

IRHA has made significant strides since its inception. From 2010 to the present, the organization has trained over 60,000 candidates in the health sector, with 126 centers operating across Gujarat and India. The association has also established partnerships with prominent organizations such as GVK-Emergency Management and Research Institute and Bharat Swabhiman Trust, further expanding its reach and impact.

Our Vision and Mission

IRHA’s core mission is to create leaders, winners, and achievers in the global health sector. The association is driven by a commitment to education, equal opportunities, and excellence, aiming to raise the standards of education in paramedical and allied health sciences. Through short and long-term training programs, IRHA seeks to address the urgent need for trained paramedics, particularly in rural areas where healthcare resources are often scarce.

IRHA’s activities include organizing diagnostic camps, AIDS awareness programs, community healthcare services, and free rural mobile health services. The association also focuses on promoting and developing paramedical sciences across Gujarat, India, and abroad, ensuring that health workers are equipped with the skills and knowledge needed to provide effective care.

Recent Developments and Future Plans

In response to the increasing demand for paramedical staff, IRHA has launched a new initiative, “Big Jump Education and Career Services” (BJES). Starting in the 2024 academic year, BJES will offer a range of services aimed at empowering youth and providing skill development education. This initiative includes setting up new paramedical course centers in hospitals and colleges, offering recruitment services for healthcare professionals, and providing career counseling for students across various educational boards.

Dr. Janaksinh Chauhan, the Originator Trustee of IRHA, brings a wealth of experience to the organization, having trained thousands of students who are now thriving in various healthcare fields. Under his leadership, IRHA continues to expand its activities, aiming to create a new generation of healthcare leaders who can serve the nation with dedication and expertise.

As IRHA embarks on this new chapter, the organization remains steadfast in its commitment to improving healthcare education and services, ensuring that every citizen has access to quality care, regardless of their location.
