Kabra Brothers Sangeet Samaroh to enchant Ahmedabad on July 20-21

Ahmedabad 17 July 2024: Ahmedabad is set to witness an extraordinary celebration of Indian classical music with the inaugural Kabra Brothers Sangeet Samaroh on July 20 and 21 at Gujarat University. This two-day musical extravaganza is a heartfelt tribute to the cherished memories of Pt. Damodarlal Kabra and Pt. Brijbhushan Kabra, showcasing the exemplary musical artistry of some of India’s most renowned classical musicians.

Conceptualised and organised by Shah Goverdhanlal Kabra Gyanpith, Jodhpur, and Darshan Society, Ahmedabad, the Kabra Brothers Sangeet Samaroh 2024 is supported by Upasana School of Performing Arts, Gujarat University, and the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR).

Featuring some of the most brilliant Hindustani classical maestros from across India, the event promises to be a memorable one for the audience.

The first day of the concert will feature Debasis Chakraborty on the slide guitar, Dr. Dhananjay Daithankar on the santoor, and Joby Joy on the tabla. It will also feature Pandit Jayateerth Mevundi with vocal renditions, Yashwant Vaishnav on the tabla, and Narendra Nayak on the harmonium.

The audiences can also look forward to extraordinary musical performances on the second day with Dr. Viraj Amar with vocal renditions, Sapan Anjaria on the tabla, Alla Rakha Kalavant on the sarangi, Shishir Bhatt on the harmonium, Pandit Basant Kabra on the sarod, and Yashwant Vaishnav on the tabla.

The Kabra Brothers Sangeet Samaroh is open to all and aims to create an enduring legacy of musical excellence and cultural enrichment. The organisers and supporting partners invite music aficionados to this extraordinary event, marking the beginning of a long-term offering dedicated to classical music.

Join us for two evenings of sublime music and witness the confluence of tradition and talent in the heart of Ahmedabad at Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Auditorium, Gujarat University. The concert timings are from 8:00 pm to 12:00 midnight.
