Kabirvad, Bharuch 09th January 2025: Noted spiritual leader and Ramcharitmanas exponent Morari Bapu has called upon parents to ensure their children carry a copy of the Ramayana and Bhagavad Gita in their school bags, describing the ancient texts as invaluable guides for life.
Speaking during the ongoing “Manas Kabir Vad” katha at Kabirvad in Bharuch on Wednesday, Morari Bapu emphasised the importance of instilling cultural and moral values in the younger generation.
“Our ancient works are our heritage. Please listen to me and make your children understand in your language. It is very necessary. These texts are not yet fully included in our education system, though small steps are being taken. Therefore, I urge you to keep a Ramayana and Gita in your children’s school bags, just like a compass box. These texts will be very helpful. They will guide children even in our absence,” he said.
Morari Bapu clarified that these works are not merely religious scriptures but represent the cultural and spiritual “eyes” of the nation.
“We have seen the world through these ‘netras.’ Speaking about them does not mean criticising any other religion. If this does not harm anyone, it should be done,” he emphasised.
Drawing an analogy, he compared these texts to glasses or lenses that correct one’s vision.
“If a child’s eyesight weakens, we provide glasses or lenses. For elders, we perform cataract surgery. But the true ‘vision’ we can give to our children is a copy of the Ramayana and Gita in their school bag. If children begin to see the world through these eyes, there will be no conflicts, divisions, or wars,” Bapu added.
Morari Bapu has devoted his entire life to spreading the teachings of Lord Rama and the Ramayana. The ongoing Katha in Kabirvad is his 949th katha in his six-decades-long spiritual journey. His timeless messages of truth, love and compassion resonate deeply with crores of people worldwide.
