Jhansi 17th December 2024: In a powerful initiative to address critical cultural and religious challenges, the Sanatan Sanskritik Sangh is set to launch the Sanatan Raksha Yatra 2.0 on December 18 from Jhansi.
Led by Haripriya Bhargav, the Sanatan Raksha Yatra 2.0 is a clarion call for decisive action on three urgent demands, viz. safeguarding minorities in Bangladesh, enforcing a nationwide ban on cow slaughter and achieving a pollution-free Ganga.
The Yatra will cover key cities such as Kanpur, Lucknow and Ayodhya before returning to Jhansi on December 20. A significant highlight of the Yatra includes a prayer offering at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya.
The Sanatan Raksha Yatra 2.0 has three key demands. The first is the protection of minorities and places of worship in Bangladesh. The group has expressed grave concerns over attacks on minority communities, including Hindus, Buddhists, Jains and Sikhs, in Bangladesh, and incidents of violence, vandalism of temples and desecration of religious sites. The outfit has urged the Indian government to raise the issue at global forums to hold Bangladesh accountable and enhance humanitarian efforts to ensure the safety of minorities in Bangladesh.
In a formal appeal, Haripriya Bhargav, Chairperson of Sanatan Sanskritik Sangh, said, “The violence against Hindus and other minorities in Bangladesh threatens India’s heritage and social fabric. This is a humanitarian crisis unfolding on our doorstep. We cannot remain silent as temples are destroyed, homes are burned, and innocent lives are lost. We urge the Indian government to take swift and decisive action to uphold the values that define our collective identity. We also appeal to the global community to act.”
The second demand is a nationwide ban on cow slaughter given the sacred significance of cows in the Indian culture. The organisation is demanding the enactment of a strict national law prohibiting cow slaughter, severe penalties for individuals involved in the slaughter or trade of cow meat, and the creation of a national monitoring committee for cow protection.
The third demand is the cleanliness of the Ganga by immediate action against river pollution. The outfit is pressing for a complete ban on industrial waste disposal into rivers, rigorous enforcement of the Ganga Action Plan, and strict measures against polluting industries and individuals.
Prominent members supporting the Sanatan Raksha Yatra 2.0 include Bhai Rajesh Kumar, National Strategy Coordinator, Rajendra Singh Kushwaha, National Secretary, Manoj Jain, Executive National Coordinator, Dr. Vishwakarma, District Coordinator, Lalitpur, and Kamal Saigal, Coordinator, Jhansi.
The Yatra is expected to gather widespread public support and send a strong message to authorities at every level, demanding swift and effective action on these pressing issues. The Sangh has vowed to continue its efforts until real change is achieved.
