Star Air Launches Diu as its 25th Destination with Special Starting ₹1499/- Promotional Fares

Adds direct flights from Diu to Goa (Mopa) and Ahmedabad 

Bengaluru 03rd May 2025 Star Air, the aviation arm of Sanjay Ghodawat, proudly expands its network with the launch of Diu as its 25th destination—furthering its commitment to “Connect Real India.” To celebrate six years in the skies, the airline is offering a special promotional fare of just ₹1499. Star Airis the only regional airline to havecompleted six years of uninterrupted operations.

Starting May 16, 2025, Star Air will commence direct flights to Diu from both Goa (Mopa) and Ahmedabad, making the pristine Union Territory more accessible to leisure and business travelers alike.

Operating under the Government of India’s UDAN (Ude Desh ka Aam Nagrik) scheme, these new routes will be served by Star Air’s 50-seater Embraer ERJ-145 aircraft, known for their reliability, comfort, and spacious 1×2 all-economy layout.

The flights will operate five days a week (Monday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday) and are set to play a vital role in boosting regional tourism and economic connectivity on India’s western coastline.

Announcing the new sectors, Captain Simran Singh Tiwana, CEO, Star Air said, “With the launch of Diu as our 25th destination, we are thrilled to deepen our network in Western India and bring new opportunities for travelers, entrepreneurs, and local communities. Diu’s addition reflects our commitment to seamless regional connectivity and delivering dependable air travel under the UDAN vision.”

A proud and active participant in the Government of India’s UDAN (Ude Desh ka Aam Nagrik) initiative, Star Airis the only regional airline to havecompleted six years of uninterrupted operations, and has carried nearly 1.5 million passengers while maintaining a robust schedule of 300 weekly flights, and set to grow further during the summer season to 350 weekly flights.

Star Air is also the only regional airline to have operated all the routes awarded to it under the UDAN scheme. Star Air’s expansion comes at a pivotal time for Indian aviation, with rising passenger demand and evolving regional dynamics. Star Air is now moving beyond its initial UDAN 5.0 routes, venturing into more commercial city pairs while staying firmly committed to its core mission of “Connecting Real India” by bridging under-served Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities.
