“I’m Proud to be Part of a Generation Where Women Today Take a Stand in Every Room Possible,” : Mahira Bherwani

“If someone asks what I’m chasing, I won’t say money or status,” she says.

“I want impact. I want the rooms that once intimidated me to eventually feel familiar.”

I want to build something with my name on it — not borrowed, not handed over.

Every morning brings something she values deeply.

Purpose.

“There is no better feeling than waking up knowing you have something meaningful to work towards,” she says.

There is something powerful about the time we are living in. Across industries and cities, women are stepping into spaces that once felt distant or unfamiliar. They are exploring new fields, learning new trades, and gradually reshaping the idea of leadership — not by forcing change, but by showing up with purpose and perspective.

Mahira Bherwani represents this quiet but meaningful shift.

Working with Global Energy Food Industries Pvt. Ltd., she currently serves as Assistant Director alongside her father. The company operates in FMCG manufacturing and agro-commodities trade and exports — industries that demand agility, discipline, and constant learning.

While working within the existing operations, she also chose to expand the business vertically by introducing new products into the company’s basket. This allowed her to understand the ecosystem of the business from the ground up — from production processes to market dynamics and trade — helping identify gaps and shape improvements across different areas.

A typical day for her may include discussions on trade, overseeing operations, understanding products, production planning, export documentation, and working on new product development — all while observing how everyday decisions shape the direction of a company.

“Right now my work involves everything and anything,” she says.

“My story is still being written,” she says.

“I have only just begun, with many more opportunities and lessons ahead.”

And perhaps that is what makes her journey meaningful. Not the title, nor the expectation — but the quiet determination to learn, to build, and to grow step by step.

Because sometimes the most powerful legacy is not simply success.

It is the courage to begin — and the resilience to keep going until the vision becomes real.
