Amazon.in Expands Smartchoice Feature to 10 Product Categories, Building the Most Comprehensive Guided Discovery Experience for Electronics Shopping in India

BENGALURU | 10th JUNE 2026 | Amazon.in today announced the expansion of its Smartchoice feature to 10 consumer electronics categories. The feature, which offers expert-curated, use-case-led recommendations across 30 distinct use-case segments, is now the most comprehensive guided-discovery experiences for electronics shopping in India. Already live across laptops (gaming and non-gaming), tablets, audio (headphones and soundbars), cameras, washing machines and refrigerators, it has now added ACs, monitors, PC accessories and wearables, with TVs and smartphones coming soon. Alongside the expansion, Amazon.in has also announced the ‘Smartchoice Days’ sale event starting June 11 featuring deals on Smartchoice recommended products.

How Smartchoice works

Smartchoice curates product selections based on customers unique needs. Instead of browsing hundreds of options filtered by price or specifications, customers are guided to a shortlist tailored to their specific use case. A college student looking for a laptop sees recommendations different from a remote worker or a gamer. A family buying their first AC gets selections based on room size and efficiency, not just brand or tonnage. A fitness enthusiast exploring wearables sees picks built around activity tracking rather than feature lists. Across 10 categories and 30 use-case segments, Smartchoice combines expert validation with real-world context to help customers find the right product from the first click. 

How customers are shopping

Across categories, Smartchoice is shaping how customers discover and decide on electronics. Customers using the feature spend 25% less time researching before purchase. Student laptops and AI-powered PCs are seeing the highest adoption in computing, while productivity-focused tablets lead in the tablet segment. In newer categories, customers are gravitating toward premium and higher-spec products, particularly in tier 2 and tier 3 cities which account for 65% of all Smartchoice purchases. 

Leading brands driving adoption

Smartchoice features curated selections from leading brands across categories. In computing, Intel leads non-gaming laptop selections while ASUS is driving AI PC adoption through its Zenbook range and HP with Omnibook. The gaming selections are powered by NVIDIA. Lenovo leads tablet selections for productivity, while LG and BenQ dominate the monitors segment across office, gaming and content-creation use cases. In appliances, LG and Samsung are leading adoption in refrigerators and ACs.
