Frontier Raas Opens in Ahmedabad, with Kangana Ranaut as Chief Guest

A house that has dressed India’s celebrations for over seven decades finds a new home in a city with a deep love for textiles, craft and traditions of dressing.

AHMEDABAD, GUJARAT | 02nd NOVEMBER 2026 | Since 1954, Frontier Raas has been part of countless celebrations, dressing families for weddings, festivals and the occasions that bring generations together. Over the years, the house has grown with the changing ways in which India dresses, while continuing to draw inspiration from the country’s textiles, its regional crafts and the artisans who keep these traditions alive. Today, Frontier Raas has a presence across eight cities in India, along with the United Kingdom, the UAE and the United States, where the house opened its store in Edison, New Jersey, in June 2026.

Continuing this journey, Frontier Raas opened its new store in Ahmedabad on 1st November 2026. Few cities share as natural a connection with the house. Ahmedabad’s relationship with textiles goes beyond what it creates; it lives in the way the city understands weaving, values craftsmanship and appreciates the thought that goes into dressing for an occasion. These are sensibilities that have always been close to Frontier Raas, making the city a meaningful place for the house to call home.

An Evening to Remember

The inauguration was a spectacular evening, attended by the who’s who of Ahmedabad: the city’s leading families, prominent business personalities and patrons of art, fashion and culture. Guests were welcomed into the new space to celebrate the opening and experience the world of Frontier Raas up close, making it one of the most talked-about occasions in the city’s social calendar.

A Space Shaped by Craft

The architecture and interiors of the new store have been thoughtfully designed to reflect the spirit of the house. Every element of the space, from its materials and textures to its lighting and layout, draws from the warmth of Indian craft, creating an atmosphere where heritage and contemporary design come together. The store has been planned as much more than a retail space; it is an environment where customers can take their time, explore and discover pieces that feel personal to the occasions they dress for.

Kangana Ranaut Graces the Occasion

The evening was graced by actor Kangana Ranaut as Chief Guest. Her presence carried a natural connection to the house and to the city. Kangana’s personal style has long reflected her appreciation for Indian handlooms and traditional saris, and she has often championed homegrown crafts on some of the country’s most visible platforms. Her choice of a Patan Patola sari from Frontier Raas, a weave rooted in Gujarat’s own textile heritage, made her a fitting guest to mark the house’s arrival in Ahmedabad. It was also a reminder of how regional crafts continue to find their place in the way India dresses today.

Mr. Anil Batra, Chairman, Frontier Raas, shares:

“Handloom saris have always been very close to my heart. I have immense admiration for the skill, patience and dedication of our weavers, who carry forward traditions that have been passed down through generations. I have always felt that it is important to value the people behind these textiles and ensure that their work receives the appreciation it deserves. At Frontier Raas, we have tried, in our own small way, to support these weaving communities and contribute towards keeping traditional weaves relevant and appreciated by bringing them to more people, both in India and across the world. Ahmedabad, with its own rich textile heritage, holds a special relevance for us, and we are delighted to bring our house to this city and become a part of its celebrations.”

What to Expect at Frontier Raas Ahmedabad

The Ahmedabad store brings together the many expressions of Frontier Raas, from handloom saris and bridal couture to occasionwear, menswear and more. At the heart of the offering is the house’s textile-led design approach, where heavy embroideries, intricate hand embellishment and surface craft are worked onto fine Indian textiles.

The collections draw from weaving traditions across India, each with its own history, technique and identity. Customers can discover Banarasi Kadhwa and Jamdani, Kanjivaram, Patan Patola, Ikat and Sambalpuri Ikat from Odisha, alongside Bandhani and detailed hand embroidery. For a city that understands creativity, textiles, artisans and craftsmanship as deeply as Ahmedabad does, the store has been curated to offer pieces that honour that understanding.

For Frontier Raas, this opening is more than an addition to its retail presence. It is an opportunity to build lasting relationships in a city that values the very traditions that have shaped the house for over seventy years.
