AHMEDABAD, GUJARAT | 16th APRIL 2026 — Mr. Yatharth Pandya, reputed Sports Activist has issued a legal notice to the Table Tennis Federation of India (TTFI) and M/s STAG Global challenging the award of contract for table tennis equipment, apparel and sponsorship rights.
The notice alleges that the contract was awarded in an arbitrary and non-transparent manner without approval of the Executive Committee, ratification by the General Body or any valid recommendation of the tender committee. It is further alleged that bids were received after the deadline and that TTFI proceeded with STAG Global despite serious objections.
The notice relies upon the Special General Meeting of TTFI held on January 17, 2026, where members reportedly recorded that the process was hurried and arbitrary and that the contract should be kept in abeyance and independently investigated.
The notice also refers to statements of Former TTFI Secretary General Mr. Kamlesh Mehta, who allegedly stated that he was kept completely in the dark regarding the process and was subsequently suspended after raising objections.
Mr. Pandya stated: “No National Sports Federation receiving public funds can be permitted to function through secrecy, favouritism and arbitrary exercise of power. Transparency and accountability are essential.”
The legal notice seeks immediate suspension of the contract, constitution of an independent inquiry and disclosure of all relevant records. Failing compliance within 15 days, further legal proceedings shall be initiated.
